Romans 13:1 let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Romans 12:2 do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is; his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 3:5-6 trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.
Isaiah 43:16-19 this is what the Lord says, he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters. Who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick. Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Masks: Which one are you wearing and What are you trying to hide?
We are in the new year and many went to masquerade balls to bring the new year in; you wear a mask. Mardi Gras is coming up in New Orleans, it's one giant party where many wear masks. But when there is no masquerade ball or mardi gras parry what mask(s) are you wearing and What are you trying to hide? What do I mean by that? Many years ago I wore two particular masks on a regular basis; "Everything is alright" and "i'my happy". In actuality neither was true, nothing was alright and I was not happy, I was depressed.
Eventually, I began to except my truth and sought help, both professionally and spiritually. It wasn't overnight but I did begin to learn how to be happy in the middle of whatever chaos was going on. I also began accepting people for who they really are. In the past, I was holding them to my standards, measuring them by my yard stick when they really didn't measure up. I was hurt and disappointed every time. Additionally, I learned I wasn't God nor superwoman. I wasn't the answer to all that ailed everyone around me, I am not the Savior and I didn't have to be the strong one all of the time. It was ok for me to be human, ignorant and vulnerable.
Some people are wearing the mask of "money"; they allow the money or lack thereof, speak for them. They have more than others so they are better or they don't have but live as if they do to impress others or they don't have and are less than and live in a pity party. Some hide behind the "education" mask; they have to be the most intelligent in the crowd but may not have people skills so they ostracized many. Some hide behind the mask of their "past" indescretions and don't feel worthy of love, peace or happiness because they have failed so many people or so many times or both.
The word states in 2 Corinthians 4:2 (Msg) We refuse to wear masks and plau games. We don't maneuver or manipulate behind the scenes. And we don't twists God's word to suit ourselves. Rather we keep everything we do and say out in the open, the whole truth on display, so that those who want to can see and judge for themselves in the presence of God. When you wear a mask you are ultimately lying not only to others but yourself as well. Be honest, stop playing games and accept who you are and allow God to do whatever healing that needs to take place in you. Once you have done that it will no longer matter, so much, what others think or don't think of you. People are going to talk/judge regardless but you will love yourself for who you really are.
Live in Your truth and take off your mask (s).
